(August 23/2017) The State Minister of Higher Education Development, Honorable Ato Kora Tushune, received a delegation led by the Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Regional Cooperation, Gilad Shadmon, and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the education sector.
At the same time, the State Minister of Higher Education Development stated that there is a need to learn from the experience and expertise of Israeli universities in higher education cooperation between the two countries, especially in academics, research, and university-industry linkages.
The State Minister also said that there is a need to increase cooperation in innovation and new technologies, agriculture, information and communication technology, mining and other sectors.
Gilad Shadman, Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Regional Cooperation, for his part, pointed out the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Ethiopia and Israel, and said that his country wants to strengthen its relations with Ethiopia in the field of education.
He also said that Israel can share its experience in agriculture, environmental protection, especially water and soil protection and management, technology, innovation and others.
The discussion was attended by the Israeli Ambassador to Ethiopia, Abraham Nigusse, and other relevant officials.
