(February 27/2017) The Minister of Education, Professor Berhanu Nega, visited schools in the East Welega Zone of the Oromia Regional State and encouraged students.
During his visit, he visited Getema Secondary School and Negeso Primary School.
At the same time, the Minister urged the Grade 12 students to study hard because their current level will determine their future lives; they should never waste time.
He said that for this country to continue, the future successors of the country should be praised not only for their color but also for their morals.
He also emphasized that the greatest role in shaping the next generation belongs to the teacher and asked the teachers to fulfill their assigned responsibilities well.
Oromia Regional State Education Bureau Head Tola Beriso (PhD) said that students are struggling because they are not being properly covered for the year and are not taking standardized exams. He urged teachers to pay attention to this issue and ensure that students move from classroom to classroom with the appropriate knowledge.
The leaders stated that during their visits to the schools, they were able to see that peaceful teaching and learning is taking place and that students are learning in a calm manner.
