(October 06/2018) The Minister of Education, Professor Berhanu Nega, participated in the regional education conference being held in Gambella Regional State under the theme “Equity and Quality of Education for the Development of Generations”.
In his speech at the same time, he explained that improvements have been seen in student achievement due to the reform activities implemented in the education sector over the past years of change to ensure the quality of education.
He added that in order to ensure sustainable development and progress as a country, it is necessary to build a self-reliant citizenry by providing access to quality education; attention is being paid to this in the education sector, he said.
He also noted that there has been a change in student achievement in Gambella Regional State and urged the leadership to work with greater determination to further strengthen the change.
Gambella Regional State Administrator, Mrs. Alemitu Umod, stated that the region has achieved better results in terms of education coverage and is working hard to address the gaps in ensuring quality. She also confirmed that she is working with all stakeholders to ensure educational participation and quality in the region.
