(February 11/2018) The Head of the Regional Education Bureau, Ato Getu Negwo, stated that the 2018 Grade 12 national exam will be held online for more than 2,400 students.
The head said that there is no paper-based Grade 12 exam in the region and that 18 secondary schools in rural and urban areas in the region will conduct the exam online.
He also stated that a Telegram channel has been opened for students to practice the online exam and that questions are being sent to each group to work on them from home.
Ato Getu said that students in the region have achieved better results in the online 12th grade exam than the paper-based 12th grade exam last year, which has increased the passing rate of students.
He also mentioned that there are students in the region who were expected to achieve good results in the paper-based exam but did not get their results due to problems such as stress, anxiety, and so on.
He also said that since the students are taking the 12th grade national exam and competing with 12th grade students from all over the country, they are being provided with Mind Set training so that they do not feel afraid and are brave enough to answer the questions they have read.
The Head of the Office explained that the Mind Set training is being conducted by trainers and that all secondary school students are being provided with the training in their respective schools.
Ato Getu also noted that the regional president’s visits to schools and sharing his own experiences and advice in the form of training contributed significantly to the improvement in the results of grade 12 students in the region last year.
He also mentioned that this year, the regional president is visiting schools to support students, provide advice, and share his experiences and expertise.
