(April 24/2017) The construction of Aga Tintono Model Secondary School, which the Ministry is building in Shakiso town, Guji zone, Oromia regional state, has begun.
The construction was launched by the Minister of Education, Professor Berhanu Nega, the Social Cluster Coordinator of Oromia regional state with the rank of Vice President, Ato Sadat Nesha, and the Head of the Regional Education Bureau, Tola Beriso (PhD). Since education is crucial to being competitive in the world, efforts are being made to transform our country’s education system from the ground up and produce the next generation that will build the country. This model secondary school to be built in Shakiso town will address the shortage of schools in the city.
He thanked the city administration and the Ministry of Education for starting the construction of this school in Shakiso, noting the problems it faces. It is said that the construction of the school will be completed within ten to twelve months.
In addition to the schools it builds itself, the Ministry of Education has launched a nationwide “Education for the Generation” public movement to improve school infrastructure, raising more than 80 billion birr to build new schools and repair and renovate existing schools.
In this regard, it was explained that many works have been carried out by building Buura Boru, Ifa Boru and boarding schools in the Oromia region and coordinating with the community.
In particular, it was stated that more than 17,000 pre-primary schools have been built to address the problem of education quality from the ground up.
It was also noted that the region is working hard to ensure the quality of education in the education sector and to produce future citizens who are developed in science and technology.
The agreement of the Regional Education Bureau to provide adequate monitoring and support to ensure that the construction of model secondary schools initiated by the Ministry of Education in the region is completed within the stipulated time frame, maintaining their quality It is remembered that he was signed.
