(January 21/2017) Senior leaders of the Ministry of Education visited the Ethiopian Defense University and held discussions with the leaders of the institution.
During the visit, the university was briefed on the university’s academic, research and community service activities since its establishment, and the issues that require support.
The President of the Ethiopian Defense University, Brigadier General Kebede Regasa, stated at the same time: The university is an institution established for Ethiopia that welcomes students from all parts of the country and is working strategically to achieve its vision.
He stated that it is especially necessary to produce a human resource with sufficient knowledge of modern technology that suits the coming world and requested that the university be provided with the necessary support to be more effective.
The Minister of Education, Professor Berhanu Nega, said that the work being done by the Ethiopian Defense University should be supported by research to enable the institution to achieve the missions given to it.
The Minister, who said that defense and teachers are the pillars of this country, should work to make people like the profession and choose the university.
He added that starting next year, Ethiopian Defense University will be included as an option in the selection of higher education universities for students.
The State Minister of Higher Education, Ato Kora Tushune, said that research and innovation projects should be supported by projects and that they should work hard for this.
