The Minister of Education, Honorable Birhanu Nega (Pr.) had a discussion with the Ambassador of Qatar to Ethiopia regarding the education sector.  In their discussion, they agreed to work more cooperatively than ever before.  

The Ambassador of Qatar in Ethiopia has expressed his desire to work together with the Ministry of Education of his country and development organizations that support education.

The ambassador added that they are interested in supporting Ethiopia’s education reform, especially in the general education sector, the expansion and renovation of schools, school meals, and providing various trainings to improve teachers’ skills.

In the discussion, it was agreed that the two countries will focus on cooperation between universities, free education, and joint research projects.
