(February 06/2018) Recently, newly appointed board leaders, university presidents, and vice presidents were given a job orientation guide to ensure that they understand their responsibilities properly and take action.
In a message delivered at the forum, the State Minister for Higher Education Development, Ato Kora Tushune, emphasized that newly appointed university leaders should fully understand the mission and role of the institution they are assigned to in order to fulfill their national mandate.
The State Minister added that it is fundamental for the success of the institution for the leadership to fully understand and work on the assigned job responsibilities.
The State Minister also stated that since universities are centers of knowledge and research, it is crucial for the leadership to act with a clear vision to effectively lead institutional reform efforts and ensure the quality of education.
A comprehensive presentation was made at the forum regarding the ongoing reforms and regular activities in the higher education development sector.
It was also stated that the new leaders should adapt the existing situation of the institution to the national reform direction when they start working based on the instructions given to them.
