Minister of Education Professor Berhanu Nega met with the Finnish Ambassador to Ethiopia, Sinika Antilla.
At the same time, the Minister explained that Finland’s approach to providing quality and equitable education to all citizens is a model to be followed.
He also explained the work being done in Ethiopia to ensure quality and equity in education, which is a priority in the reform.
He urged governmental and non-governmental educational partners supporting reform efforts in the education sector to work together to ensure that their funds are properly used for the intended purpose and to achieve the reform plans of the Ministry of Education.
Finnish Ambassador Sinika Anttila, for her part, highlighted the many collaborative efforts that Finland has made with Ethiopia in the education sector and expressed their desire to further strengthen this.
She expressed her commitment to working together in particular in teacher capacity building, special needs and inclusive education, technological innovation, and other areas of education.
The two sides agreed that any support provided should be focused on issues that facilitate children’s learning and ensure quality.
