(May 19/2017) Training was provided to five sectoral industry liaison forum leaders and branch office coordinators.
The State Minister for Higher Education Development, Honorable Ato Kora Tushune, stated at the opening of the training that education and training institutions and the industry should work together.
The Honorable State Minister also stated that education and training institutions and industry linkages can create better capacity by jointly generating and utilizing resources.
The State Minister, who pointed out that the sector has a key role in developing a competitive citizen and country, also emphasized that the sector’s stakeholders should fulfill their responsibilities by conducting learning, teaching and research based on the needs of the industry.
Dr. Atoday Handiso, Executive Director of Research and Community Development Affairs, said that the purpose of the training is to enable higher education, technical and vocational training, research institutions and industry to fulfill their responsibilities to the country through coordination and cooperation.
Ato Teshome Daniel, Head of the Institutional Networking and Technology Transfer Desk, said that the training focused on the concept of higher education, technical and vocational training, research institutions and industry networking and Proclamation 1298/15.
Ato Teshome mentioned that the training focused on enabling industries to use research resources and technologies generated and for mutual benefit.
Five sectoral industry networking forum leaders and branch office coordinators participated in the training.
