(November 08/2018) A training and educational visit was conducted for selected school principals and agricultural experts on the development of backyard farming in schools.
The Chief Executive of Educational Programs and Quality Improvement, Yohannes Wegaso (Dr.), stated that efforts are being made to expand backyard farming in schools to enable students to develop life skills.
Dr. Yohannes said that the expansion of backyard farming in schools will benefit schools by improving nutrition and diet, reducing input costs, protecting the environment, creating job opportunities and other benefits.
Since schools are centers for learning and community transfer, efforts are being made to increase their productivity, the Chief Executive stated.
