He said that efforts are being made to ensure that all Ethiopians have equal educational opportunities, and said: The Ministry of Education is planning and implementing many reform activities to change the education system.
He explained that work is being done to make the country competitive with the rest of the world; to produce competent, skilled and ethical citizens. The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Social Cluster, Ato Sadat Nesha, who was present at the construction launch, said that the work being done by the Ministry of Education to change the education system is commendable, and that the region has been able to build many schools from pre-school to secondary schools by involving the community in changing the foundation of education.
He also said that attention is being paid to ensuring the quality of education in the region. The Head of the Regional Education Bureau, Tola Beriso (PhD), said that since this area has a large number of students, the school being built now will make a great contribution in improving the student-to-student ratio.
He especially thanked the city administration for its work in preparing the site for the construction to begin and paying compensation, and said that the necessary monitoring and support should be provided until the construction of the school is completed.
The construction of the school is expected to be completed in ten months, maintaining the standards, and an agreement has been signed between the Ministry of Education and the Regional Education Bureau for this purpose.
