A consultation was held with the leaders of the higher education institutions’ management boards on the operational manual and performance evaluation.

(July 26/2017) The State Minister of Higher Education, Honorable Ato Kora Tushune, stated during the consultation that the functions and responsibilities assigned to higher education institutions by the proclamation should be carried out in an organized and coordinated manner.
The Honorable State Minister mentioned that the operational manual of the university management board has been prepared so that higher education institutions can effectively carry out their functions and responsibilities and the reform works they are implementing.
Honorable Ato Kora explained that this will enable the institutions to properly fulfill their assigned missions and will create additional capacity and organization for them.
Solomon Abraha (PhD), the Executive Director of Administration and Infrastructure, stated that the scope of application of the management manual and the performance evaluation criteria will be used by the management boards of higher education institutions that are accountable to the Ministry of Education.
He added that in order to support the institutions in an organized and coordinated manner, the management board will have up to eleven members, including the chairperson.
The consultation forum was attended by deputy management board members of higher education institutions, presidents of higher education institutions, and heads of the president’s office.
