Minister of Education Professor Berhanu Nega gave a briefing to journalists regarding the results of the 2017 Grade 12 national final examination.
He also said that the results of the 2017 Grade 12 final examination show a change compared to previous years.
He said that 8.4 percent of the students who took this year’s Grade 12 examination scored 50 percent or more.
In particular, the Minister noted that among the 585,882 students who took their exams, 5.2 percent of the social science examinees scored 50 percent or more, and 11.4 percent of the natural science examinees scored 50 percent or more.
In their explanation regarding this year’s Grade 12 results, they indicated that 50 schools were able to pass their students completely.
Students who managed to score high in the exam were recorded in the natural sciences field with 591 out of 600 from Dodola Ifa Boru School and 579 from Bisrat Gabriel School, while in social sciences, 562 were recorded from Ambo Boarding School and 548 from St. Joseph School.
