(On Nehase 16/2017 E.C.) Participants of the General Education Development Forum observed the education activities in the Sidama region. At this time, the Minister of General Education Development, Deata Kibret W/ro Ayelche, expressed their happiness upon seeing the schools and stated that great efforts are being made to improve the basic development of schools.
In particular, it was noted that the learning building constructed at Wondo Genet Secondary School was completed within 8 months and is now providing services. This indicates that the culture of quickly completing projects, starting from national projects, is becoming established. It has also been emphasized that other regions should learn from this experience accordingly.
Mr. Beyene Berasa, Head of the Sidama Regional Administration and Education Bureau, shared the works done to improve the basic development of schools under the slogan “Sidama Renaissance for Education for the Generation.”
Especially, by giving special attention to pre-primary education at the regional level, it was revealed that 78 pre-primary schools with similar standards were newly constructed.
