(February 10/2018) The Head of the Regional Education Bureau, Ato Abyet Demise, said that efforts are being made to ensure the quality of education in the region and improve the results of students.
The Head of the Education Bureau stated that the Education Bureau is providing tutorials in accordance with the special tutorial movement issued by the Ministry of Education to improve the results of students. He announced that a budget of more than 39 million birr has been allocated for this work.
This budget was collected from the government, development organizations and investors, and selected teachers as well as teachers from universities and colleges have been selected to participate in the tutorial.
The Head of the Bureau also indicated that efforts are being made to increase the pass rate of Grade 12 students in the region to 20 percent.
In addition, he stated that large-scale reform work is underway in the education sector, and new guidelines and regulations have been prepared and implemented.
He also indicated that the office is working hard to improve the quality of education by taking the experience of Addis Ababa and other regions and adapting it to the existing conditions of the region.
It is hoped that the remedial education will increase the motivation of students and will also result in better exam results in the region.
This year, special remedial education is being implemented in all regions and city administrations in an intensive manner to improve student results.
