(April 25/2017) The construction of Yabelo Model High School, one of the 50 model high schools planned by the Ministry of Education, began today.
The construction of this model high school, which will be built in Yabelo town, Borena zone, Oromia regional state, was launched by the Minister of Education, Professor Berhanu Nega, and senior leaders of the Oromia regional state.
At the same time, the Minister of Education noted that this model school will be built in a pastoral area and said that this shows our efforts to provide quality education to all citizens in an equitable manner.
As a country, we need such schools with complete infrastructure to produce globally competitive, competent and skilled citizens of tomorrow who are fit for the 21st century; we are planning and working for this, he said.
They also conveyed their message that we need to work harder to produce citizens who can think better than us and lead the country, leaving the villages and areas and thinking about the country.
The entire cost of the school’s construction will be covered by the Ministry of Education and will cost 500 million birr. It was also stated that the school’s construction will be completed within a year and teaching and learning will begin, and the community has been asked to provide the necessary support so that the construction can be completed on time.
