(May 14, 2017) A delegation led by the Minister of Education, Professor Berhanu Nega, is participating in the ongoing Global Education Forum 2025 in London.
The Minister of Education also held bilateral discussions with the UK Secretary of State for International Development, Baroness Chapman, on the sidelines of the ongoing Global Education Forum.
The Minister briefed them on the ongoing education sector reform in Ethiopia and explained the results achieved through the “Education for the Generation” public movement to improve school infrastructure.
In addition, he mentioned the work that has been initiated in the field of curriculum, training of teachers and school principals, and English language education,
He called on development partners, especially the British government, to continue their support for the rapid implementation of these reforms in the education sector.
For his part, Baroness Chapman, the British Minister for International Development, recalled her recent visit to Ethiopia and praised the changes being made in the education sector.
She stated that she would provide all necessary support to support the education sector reform in Ethiopia, despite the budget cuts made by the British government, in order to make the initiated education sector reform effective.
