(June 2/2017) In a statement given by the President of Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, Dr. Dereje, regarding the exit exam being given at the university, he said that the institution has doubled its online testing capacity.
Dr. Dereje indicated that the university has increased its online testing capacity from 636 students to 1336 students at a time, up from 10 June 2017.
The President also explained that the university will continue to conduct exit exams for prospective pre-regular students until June 10/2017.
He mentioned that the university plans to increase its online testing capacity and eliminate paper-based tests in the regular education program, as the exam is safe, cost-effective, and convenient to prevent theft.
The president, who indicated that the university has made adequate preparations for this year’s exam, said that 87% of students passed the exam in the first year and 96.7% last year, making them qualified for work.
Yunas Mekonnen, an examiner who came from Wollo University and who we met while conducting the exam at the university, said that one examiner is supervising about 30 to 40 students and that no problems have been encountered since the exam began.
Students who took the university’s entrance exam, Roman Tekle, Obang Olok and Kirubel Ababaw, said they had prepared as much as they could for the exam and were expecting better results.
It is known that 190,787 students are taking the entrance exam, which is being conducted at 87 exam centers in 51 universities.
