(August 28/2017) This international conference was chaired by the President of Chile, Gabriel Boriche, and the Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, and was aimed at accelerating the progress of SDG 4 at the country level.
The Ministers of Education of Ethiopia and Côte d’Ivoire represented Africa in this international conference.
At the same time, the Minister of Education, Professor Berhanu Nega, in his message, said that much work is expected to be done in all countries, especially in developing countries, to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of Education by 2030.
He added that African countries should stop relying on foreign aid, which has been dwindling over time, and work together to overcome their problems and achieve sustainable development and growth by coordinating their communities.
In this regard, the Honorable Minister highlighted the work that Ethiopia is doing, especially in the field of improving school infrastructure for the next generation, pre-primary education, school construction, and school feeding programs.
This international conference was attended by education ministers, agencies, and senior technical representatives of the Sherpa Group.
In addition, the Honorable Minister also participated in a forum titled “World Conference on Teachers” held in conjunction with the conference.
