(February 27/2017) The Minister of Education, Professor Berhanu Nega, and the Head of the Oromia Regional State Education Bureau, Tola Beriso (PhD), have laid the foundation stone for the construction of a model secondary school in the West Wollega Zone of Oromia Regional State.
While laying the foundation stone for the construction, the Minister said that one of the measures being taken to improve the quality of education in Ethiopia is to improve the infrastructure of schools.
He noted that the Ministry of Education is working to build model secondary schools with complete infrastructure in various parts of the country, and that the model secondary school for which the foundation stone was laid today is part of this.
He said that the construction of the school will be completed in a short time and teaching and learning will begin.
The Head of the Oromia Regional State Education Bureau, Dr. Tola Beriso, explained that the construction of improved schools with complete infrastructure is a significant contribution to ensuring the quality of education.
The leaders of the zone, for their part, expressed their happiness that the construction of the school has begun and said that they will provide all the necessary support until the construction is completed.
In addition, the Minister and his leaders visited Biftu Gembi and Sena Gembi Secondary Schools in Ginbi town and encouraged students by observing the teaching and learning process.
