(February 27/2017) The Minister of Education, State Minister for General Education Development, Ms. Ayelech Eshete, said that ensuring the quality and equity of education requires the coordination, participation and efforts of all development partners and stakeholders.
The Honorable Minister of State stated that despite the better performance in the work done to provide education in the past years, there is still a wide gap in ensuring the quality of education.
He also stated that the scope and depth of the reform works that have been started by raising the standard of schools, developing teachers and education leaders and other encouraging works have been carried out under the Education for Generations Program, and that it is necessary to increase the scope and depth of the reform works.
The Honorable Minister of State, who pointed out that the Human Capital Project will be implemented in 65 districts, thanked the leaders and experts of the Ministry of Finance, as well as the World Bank and other stakeholders who are supporting the project.
The Honorable Minister of State for Finance, Ms. Semerita Sewasew, who was present at the forum, emphasized that the desired results should be recorded in the districts where the project is implemented.
Mr. Samer A. I. Samer, the project team leader at the World Bank, said that the World Bank is supporting a wide range of activities that will ensure the quality and equity of general education.
The project was attended by heads and deputy heads of regional education bureaus, heads and senior officials of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, sectoral offices, representatives from the World Bank and 65 districts.
