The key message at the end of the training program was given by the head of the Social Disadvantages and Indigenous Knowledge Desk of the Ministry of Education, Mrs. Selamawit Alemu, who mentioned that it is important to produce a large number of citizens with information technology and computer skills in order to realize Digital Ethiopia. They mentioned that it is in line with the 5 Million Coders Initiative program.
Mrs. Selamawit added that in addition to ensuring the continuity of the training in the future, the Ministry of Education will cooperate with Addis Coder to increase its accessibility and quality.
The founder and manager of Addis Coder, Professor Jilani Nielsen, said that the training aims to recruit students from grades 9-11 who are talented and interested in the field and increase their knowledge and skills to produce qualified citizens who will benefit their country in the future.
26 local and foreign volunteer trainers with experience in the field and 99 students participated in the training. It is known that the training given for the 7th time was organized by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with a charity organization called Addis Coder.
