The education minister Professor Birhanu Nega announced that the curriculum is based on the actual situation of the country and future times.
Leaders and employees of the Ministry of Education and respondent institutions discussed the implementation of the annual plan. The Minister of Education Professor Birhanu Nega said during the discussion that the curriculum will focus on the current and future needs of the country as well as international competitiveness.
The minister also said that the curriculum of a country is to produce citizens who can protect the long-term interests of the country. He emphasized that the civil servant should be free from the influence of any political party and serves the people and the government only with his skills and abilities.
The employees of the Ministry of Education and the responsible institutions have also conveyed a message that they will take responsibility for the effectiveness of the changes and major works that have been started in order to protect the interests of the country and the people.
During the discussion, the plans for general education, higher education, Ethiopian Education Authority and National Education Assessment and Examination Service were presented and discussed. Senior leaders and experts of the ministry and the respective institutions participated in the discussion.
