(February 03/2018) The Ministry of Education, with the support of partners, has arrived at the port of Djibouti and is working to transport 23.9 million primary school textbooks to the country.
The Ministry of Education is working to distribute student textbooks one by one at all levels of education in accordance with the new curriculum, said the Minister of Education, Professor Berhanu Nega.
The Minister of Education, who stated that the provision of primary school textbooks is the responsibility of the regional education offices, explained that the Ministry of Education has been able to publish more than 23.9 million books by finding resources to solve the problem of student textbooks seen as a country.
He noted that these printed books have arrived at the port of Djibouti and some of them have begun to enter the country. He called on the regions to fulfill their responsibility by quickly receiving and delivering the books to schools so that the students can access them.
The Minister stated that the books printed by the regions and the Ministry of Education so far are not enough, adding that the Ministry of Education will continue to support the regions by reprinting approximately 40 million books with the support of partners to distribute primary school textbooks one-on-one.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Education has published secondary school textbooks in accordance with the new curriculum and distributed them to the regions so that they can be fully distributed to students one-on-one.
