(December 02/2018) Ministry of Education) The Minister of State for General Education Development, Hon. Mrs. Ayelech Eshete, has urged that the path to building a generation is long-term, and that cross-sectoral options should be expanded.
Stating that many reform activities are being designed and implemented in the education sector to ensure the quality of education, the Hon. Minister of State said that the General Education Proclamation, which was approved and put into effect in the last academic year, should be implemented properly.
In addition, she noted that school meals, capacity building training for teachers and school leaders are being carried out with attention for the effectiveness of students, and they should continue to be strengthened this year.
He also pointed out that regional and city governments should not only work as part of their plans to address the issues of teacher benefits and standards, but also address the problems of good governance that arise from the depletion of local resources. Finally, he called on regional and city government offices to work responsibly by ensuring accountability for the implementation of key tasks set in the education sector as a whole.
