(November 02/2018) In his opening speech, the Minister of Education, Professor Berhanu Nega, emphasized that a strong, fair and quality education and education based on moral development should be focused on making it accessible to citizens to create a stable society.
In addition to providing quality and fair education to create a better citizen, Professor Berhanu also emphasized that a citizen with a strong moral foundation should be created.
In order to produce educated and capable citizens, the Honorable Minister said that in-depth knowledge supported by technology should be provided from primary to higher education.
He also pointed out that the ongoing reform efforts in the education sector, especially the work being done to build a morally upright citizen, have created a good understanding among the community.
The organizer of the conference, Oromia Regional State Education Bureau Head Tola Beriso (Dr.), said that great progress has been recorded in the work carried out in the education sector over the past years.
Dr. Tola explained that there are still challenges in the sector in terms of bringing out-of-school citizens to education, providing learning materials, and technology and innovation.
The Head of the Education Bureau pointed out that the 34th Education Conference is special because it is being held at a time when our country is starting to recover.
