It has been announced that the curriculum of higher education institutions is being revised to be outcome-oriented;

(October 26/2018) The Chief Executive Officer of Academic Affairs, Eba Mijena (PhD), stated that the work of revising the curriculum is being done in line with the mission of higher education institutions.
The need to revise the curriculum of universities to be outcome-oriented was due to the fact that the previous curricula were outdated and not properly adapted to the 21st century.
The new outcome-oriented curriculum properly examines the knowledge, skills and attitudes that graduates should have at the end of their educational programs, the Chief Executive said.
The Head of the Curriculum Programs Desk, Ato Tesfaye Negwo, for his part, said that the outcome-oriented curriculum is career- and task-oriented, and that it will produce graduates who are not only job seekers but also entrepreneurs.
He explained that 55 educational programs have been revised in two rounds so far, and that more than 80 programs will be revised by the end of the year.
It was also noted that the newly revised educational programs will be implemented when higher education students who entered the university in the 2018 academic year complete their first year of study.
Ato Besufqad Hailemariam, a senior expert on curriculum programs, indicated that basic student competency measures for undergraduate programs have been prepared for the curriculum review.
