(October 14/2018) A discussion was held with relevant sector offices and stakeholders on the draft regulation prepared to prevent educational disruptions in schools and surroundings.
Opening the discussion forum, the State Minister of General Education Development, Ms. Ayelech Eshete, said that the draft regulation prepared to prevent educational disruptions will greatly contribute to the improvement of students’ results and morale by promoting peaceful learning and teaching.
He noted that the issues that disrupt the learning process are increasing from time to time and that the draft regulation was prepared to address this, and said that the purpose of the regulation is to produce citizens with a complete personality.
The Minister of State stressed that it is expected to work in coordination and consultation with relevant institutions and stakeholders for its implementation.
Mr. Umar Imam, Head of the Social Science Curriculum Desk at the Ministry of Education, noted that several discussion forums are being held with stakeholders to develop the draft regulation.
He said that after the ideas raised in each forum are taken as input and incorporated, the draft regulation will be implemented in all schools once it is approved.
It was also mentioned at the forum that the General Education Proclamation was issued last year to ensure the quality and accessibility of education and that this regulation is one of the legal frameworks being issued to implement the proclamation.
