(October 07/2018) The Minister of Education, Professor Berhanu Nega, inspected the construction progress of the Model Secondary School being built in Gambella City with the support of the Ministry of Education.
During his inspection, he said that although the construction of the Model Secondary School has been underway for a short time, the progress achieved is encouraging and stressed that it should be built at the same speed, maintaining quality and making it convenient for students.
The Minister said that all children living in our country should receive as much as possible an adequate education, knowledge and skills, and explained that attention is being paid to this.
On his part, the Head of the Gambella Regional State, Mrs. Alemitu Umod, indicated that the construction of the Model Secondary School is proceeding faster than expected and said that the work should continue to be intensified to complete it on time.
Nile Lechwe Construction and Water Works, which is constructing the Model Secondary School, has informed its senior management that the project has reached 42.1% completion.
The project manager, Engineer Bom Kot, said that the project is being worked on diligently to complete the construction with quality and on time.
The Ministry of Education is currently constructing 31 Model Secondary Schools in various parts of the country to ensure equitable access to education for citizens.
