(October 7, 2018) The Minister of State for Education, General Education Development, received and spoke with the Deputy Director of the World Food Program in Ethiopia, Dr. Mutinta Hambay, at her office.
The two sides discussed issues that could further strengthen the Ethiopian School Feeding Program.
At the same time, the Minister of State noted that the high attention given by the Ethiopian government to the School Feeding Program has led to an increase in the budget allocated by regional and city administrations to the program, and the participation of the community in the effectiveness of the program has been steadily increasing.
Dr. Mutinta, Deputy Country Director of the World Food Programme in Ethiopia, noted that Ethiopia’s school feeding programme is the largest and most advanced in Africa, and that it was recognized and cited as a model at the recent International School Feeding Alliance meeting.
He expressed his appreciation for the work being done by the Ethiopian government in implementing the school feeding programme, paying great attention to its implementation.
