(October 05/2018) The State Minister of General Education Development, Ms. Ayelech Eshete, who attended the consultation forum, noted that the adult and non-formal education program has been implemented under different names at different times.
She said that this program has made a significant contribution in providing alternative education and training opportunities to citizens and mentioned that the draft regulation on adult and non-formal education and training was prepared based on the General Education Proclamation in order to implement the program effectively.
In this regard, she mentioned that this forum was prepared because the draft regulation required consultation with the relevant sector departments and because it was a place to gather input.
For his part, the Executive Director of Adult and Non-Formal Education, Joseph Abera (PhD), noted that the program has been implemented in coordination with the relevant sectors by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with them.
