(August 27/2017) Training was provided to university industry linkages, technology transfer directors and incubation center coordinators.
According to the Chief Executive of the Higher Education Development Sector, Research and Community Engagement, Serawit Handiso (Dr.), at the training, the work of bringing research and technology results to the market is being carried out as a national plan.
Dr. Serawit said that efforts are being made to strengthen 27 incubation centers established in higher education institutions and to establish those that have not yet been established.
The Chief Executive also stated that the establishment of incubation centers will alleviate the problem of unemployment, provide practical training, and especially address skills and entrepreneurship problems.
Dr. Sayed added that expanding incubation centers will help to develop innovation and scientific knowledge by improving the interaction and coordination between different fields of education.
Head of the Institutional Network and Technology Transfer Desk, Ato Teshome Daniel, for his part, pointed out that as higher education institutions move towards autonomy, carrying out activities that support the process of financial self-sufficiency is a priority option.
He mentioned that for this to be realized, there is a need to create a network of incubation centers by introducing intellectual property, technology and research results to the market.
Ato Teshome emphasized that establishing a system supported by a digital platform that can assess the impact of transferred innovation and technology results and creating a favorable environment for industries that want to invest in innovative ideas.
University Industry Networking, Technology Transfer Directors, and Incubation Center Coordinators participated in the training, which focused on the implementation guidelines of the Communication Proclamation 1298/2015, the process of introducing research and technology results to the market, and the management of business, innovation, and technology enrichment centers.
