(July 25/2017) In his reminder, the Minister of Education stated that the role of university leaders in the success of the training of secondary school teachers and school leaders is significant.
He asked the 30 universities that provide training for teachers and school leaders to fulfill their responsibilities by properly accepting and training trainee teachers and school leaders.
He added that since the training of teachers and school leaders is crucial for the quality of education, universities are required to ensure that teachers and leaders complete the training modules prepared for them, and that they properly attend and evaluate the training.
The Executive Director of the Teachers and School Leaders Development, Dr. Muluken Ngatu, on his part, noted that the support and cooperation of university leaders and officials is crucial for the proper completion of the training of teachers and school leaders.
It was announced at the forum that starting next Monday, more than 84,000 teachers and school leaders from all parts of the country will receive training based on the type of subject they teach and will be given certificates after being assessed.
It is also worth noting that last year, more than 52,000 secondary school teachers and school leaders underwent special summer training.
