(July 24/2017) The Ministry of Education and the leaders and employees of the relevant institutions have set up a 700 million one-day green footprint sapling planting program on the banks of the Genfle River in Addis Ababa city.
The Minister of Education, Prof. Berhanu Nega, who attended the program and left his mark, said that we will hand over a green country to our children by planting together and that we must work hard to make the planet a comfortable place for human beings to live.
The State Minister of General Education, Ms. Ayelech Eshete, for her part, indicated that she was happy to participate in the 700 million sapling planting program nationwide and said that the necessary care will be taken to ensure that the saplings planted are approved and beneficial.
He added that the planted saplings will play a significant role in maintaining the air balance and contributing to a green economy.
Dr. Eshetu Kebede, Director General of the Educational Assessment and Testing Service, said that the saplings planted will add to the beauty of the area and expressed his pleasure to be a part of this historic green legacy program.
