(July 22/2017) Senior leaders of the Ministry of Education, relevant institutions and universities attended the Summer Volunteer Service in Gambella Regional State and launched it.
Speaking at the Winter Volunteer Service Launch, the Head of Gambella Regional State, Honorable Ms. Alemitu Umed, noted that since the change in our country, many achievements have been recorded that have changed the face of the country, especially the Green Legacy and Summer Volunteer Service, and said that in a country that is struggling to ensure mutual prosperity, we should cooperate and support each other.
He also thanked the Ministry of Education and its relevant institutions for launching this year’s summer volunteer service in Gambella Regional State.
The State Minister for General Education Development of the Ministry of Education, Ms. Ayelech Eshete, for her part, noted that the summer volunteer service, which has been implemented in the past years under the initiative of our Honorable Prime Minister, is a manifestation of charitable activities, especially providing an opportunity to further promote cooperation, support, understanding and respect.
He said that if everyone fulfills their responsibilities in this regard, Ethiopia will have a great potential to achieve its journey of prosperity by providing equal opportunities for all. The Ministry of Education, relevant institutions and universities launched this summer volunteer service in Gambella Regional State to renovate the homes of the underprivileged, provide learning materials to students in need, and plant saplings as part of the Green Ashara program that was launched this year.
