In his explanation of the examination process, the Minister explained that the security problems, attempts at examination theft, and disciplinary shortcomings in the examination system and administration that had been encountered in the past three years have been reduced this year.
For this, the coverage of the Internet examination has increased fourfold in one year; the unremitting efforts of the examination task force; He also said that students realized that working hard and achieving results is the only solution and that such changes are among the reasons why problems are not being noticed.
The Director General of the Educational Assessment and Examination Service, Dr. Eshetu Kebede, explained that the exam was held in four rounds and that the exams given in all four rounds were similar.
It was explained that out of the 608,742 registered examinees in the 2017 academic year, 581,905 (95.6%) took the exam, of which 134,828 (23.2%) were tested only online.
Despite this, he added that a total of 4,966 examinees in the Amhara National Region and some legal prisoners will take the paper-based exam in the second round from August 26-28/2017.
The press release explained that the number of candidates who took the online exam in the 2016 academic year was only 29,727, and this year it has reached 134,825, which is a great achievement.
