(August 15, 2017) The consultation forum, which brought together leading actors in the sector, was held to review the implementation of the 2017 plan and to make recommendations on the 2018 plan, and to reach an agreement to continue the reform efforts with greater diligence.
In his message to the Minister of Education, Professor Berhanu Nega, who attended the program, he emphasized that the efforts to provide education to citizens in a fair manner should be strengthened and the initiatives that have been initiated should be strengthened.
In this regard, the Minister emphasized that since it is impossible to achieve the desired results with the support and efforts of the government alone, the community and other stakeholders should strengthen the work started in education for generations, and said that regional and city administration education offices should work diligently in this regard.
The Minister of State for General Education Development, Ms. Ayelech Eshete, for her part, explained that the government is implementing various transformation programs to build an Ethiopia that is conducive to all citizens, peaceful and stable, and has the potential for development and prosperity. One of these transformation programs is the education sector transformation program, noting that many results have been recorded through this.
The Minister of State also explained that the 2018 CE plan is a milestone in making our plans successful, as it is the time to complete the five-year development program and the sixth education development program.
His Excellency Ato Beyene Berasso, the Deputy Governor of Sidama Regional State and Head of the Education Bureau, delivered a welcome message to the participants and explained the main educational development projects carried out in the region with the participation of the government and the community.
It was also stated that the platform is designed to further develop the achievements made, support efforts to resolve the problems and challenges encountered through the exchange of experiences and the development of other strategies.
