The Federal Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture and Sports have signed a memorandum of understanding that will enable them to work together in the field of sports development in educational institutions.
When the Minister of Education, Prof. Birhanu Nega, signed the memorandum of understanding, he said that sports are important to produce mentally and physically fit citizens.
Therefore, he pointed out that the Ministry of Education is working as part of the reform of the education sector to produce competent citizens. According to this, preparations are being made to hold a school sports competition in the next academic year and to strengthen the program.
The Minister of Culture and Sports Mrs. Shewit Shanka, on her part, pointed out that it is important to produce competent and active citizens to create a winning country in all sectors.
He pointed out that the memorandum of understanding signed on the day by the two institutions will be regularly planned and developed by technical experts at all levels and used for better success.
It is mentioned that the eight objectives of the cooperation are to improve the quality of sports education by promoting the development of school sports by creating a uniform and consistent coordination system between the two institutions.
It has been pointed out that the purpose of the agreement document is to create a favorable environment to produce a successor generation with a better active and universal personality by making sports development a culture.
